For my artist research I looked at a variety of different artist. I wanted to focus on colour schemes and shapes so the artist that I chose create quite abstract work. I first looked at Mike Perry. His work is very colourful and filled with energy and movement. I specifically like how in one particular image I chose to look at the shapes are almost colliding into one another creating a burst of energy. It was important to look at different artist to gain some inspiration and to incorporate elements that I found appealing from each artist into my own work. I used some previous samples I had made from Mike Perry’s work to see if my moving image would look better on a dark background or on a brighter background. I think to expand on my research of different artist I could look at more than illustrators and painters but also look into photography, different sculptures and more moving images with different styles to become inspired by. Also to help with my experimentation I could create my own small paintings in response to the research I have collected.
