Research (FMP)

I decided to look at the different outcomes from meditation and peoples experience with it, how they felt after and overall how it benefited them. I went online where I was lucky enough to find a variety of different responses to meditating all of which said they benefited from it in some way. Doing this was significant because I want to include other peoples responses to meditating at the end of my book to encourage young students to try meditating themselves. I think if they read about all the positive outcomes, especially from other students around the world then they will be more excited to try it. As well as this, I began to look at different apps such as CALM and HEADSPACE. By looking into these apps and even practising some of the meditation tutorials on the app I was able to come to the conclusion that I would also like to include these into my book. Therefore the research I did into different apps was useful as it gave me a clear idea of what I could include into my book and also taught me different methods of meditating as well.

Once I stopped using the app, I found myself feeling quite stressed again and like I didn’t have a lot of control over the way I felt or my mood. Taking the time out in my day to reflect and practise some of the meditation on the app made me feel more relaxed and like myself, like I was ready to take on the day. I think it was important for me to do this because even in that short space of meditating I was able to reap some of the benefits. Seeing how this really changed and affected my mood and all the positives that came from meditating encouraged me to not only continue but to try to include my experience into the book and make it more personal.
