I started my research with a mind map from the talk we were given about the different products and what was expected from the client. It was a learning experience to see what it would be like to have a client and work with them. It was important to document what he wanted and also what he expected from the packaging as getting the right feel for the brand would help when reflecting it on the packaging. I ensured to take in as much information as I could as I knew that this would result in a much better outcome. Through listening and documenting I found out that he wanted recyclable materials to be used and for the packaging to be quite simple and earthy as he was trying to attract a specific audience.
Once I had a good idea of what was expected I began to research different brands and packaging. I looked at packaging such as Frank and SKS bottle. I wanted my research to be quite broad because I didn’t want to limit myself to creating a box that so many companies use as my packaging. Once I had an idea of different brands and their packaging I began to sketch up my own ideas and focus on some illustrations of willow trees.
