For the final outcome, I ended up changing quite a few things. To begin I wanted the colour of the packaging to be green and to have some sort of design on it, however when i experimented with the design I wanted I found that it looked quite out of place, so instead of incorporating a design I decided to simply leave it without one. I thought that it looked more organic without any design and too much would’ve created a busy atmosphere which would distract you from the product itself.
Also when placing the logo onto the packaging, I decided to write it on a tag instead of on the packaging, which I thought was a good idea because I wanted you to be able to then recycle the box and use it for anything you want later. This way you wouldn’t be throwing the packaging away but keeping it to either store your products or other things. In terms of time management, I would have done more research into the design aspect of the product and also look at keeping the packaging together and making it more stable as I was concerned that it might fall apart after a while and if carrying something that was heavy would make it tip over. I would also add more information to the packaging such as the website or social media addresses as I felt that a product with not much design on it isn’t eye-catching enough to attract the public which could be a problem when selling the product itself.
Overall I was pleased with the outcome and how the packaging looked as the goal was to make it simple and not over the top. I think although I could’ve added a few things, the majority of the work was done on time and I was able to see the project really come together. I also learnt about different nettings, experience with a client and also new skills on illustrator when placing your own designs onto the netting of your packaging.
