Final Outcome

Overall I was pleased with the final outcome of the beauty book, however I didn’t finish it on time and so I need to improve my time management because i’m then not able to present my work and talk about my final outcome the way I would like to because I don’t have the finished product. I did find that the paper I used to print my illustrations on wasn’t a good material to use as the ink was slowly coming off if I would rub the page gently. I was pleased with the colour scheme I used and found it was quite abstract and colourful.

The end paper I made looked quite rushed, again because of my time management, if I could change anything I would want it to look neater and more composed because I didn’t wait for it to dry it smudged onto the paper a bit and so looks slightly messy. Also I would bind the hard back cover to the book like I did for my design manifesto because it would look more professional and there would be less of a risk of it falling apart. I also would’ve created a dust cover with more detail and information on the back about what the book represents to give people more of an understanding as I feel that a lot of people won’t understand the concept of the book. I wanted to start the book with a lot of colour, movement and energy which I believe is beautiful and then begin to strip it away, leaving you with something quite simple but still beautiful. This is supposed to give you the impression that simplicity is also beauty.
