I started my research by looking at what beauty meant in art and to other people, by finding out what it meant to others I was able to come up with my own understanding of beauty and also compare it with other people. I always begin my research with a mind map of ideas where I can later pick my ideas that I liked best. I would like to start sketching ideas that come to my mind instead of focusing on writing as I feel it will help my practise if I’m more free and expressive with my research.

I also looked at an additional six artist, picking out the work that I found beautiful and really understanding why I found those pieces beautiful. Doing the artist research was important for this project because it would help me to find inspiration and pick techniques and similar layouts from artist to possibly incorporate into my final outcome. I think having six different artist to look at was beneficial because theres a lot you can take form each artist, especially if they’re all different. If I was to do anything differently, I would look at more illustrators rather than painters. However I did look at photographers as well as painters.
