We were given a short talk on moving image before we began coming up with ideas. The talk was useful as it taught me that moving image shouldn’t be restricted to just describing what is being seen or advertised. Its about sound, colour, movement etc. Before the talk, our ideas for the invitation was very boring and basic. We were just going to have the word ‘RED’ across the screen with the date the party is held on and a small animation below. However after the talk we were open to challenging ourselves with more creative ideas and really thinking outside of the box. We wanted to create something more exciting and something that really speaks for itself instead of using words. Overall the outcome of the moving image was successful and we were satisfied with the result.
When making the moving image, we wanted to create something bold and quick with natural sound effects. The video needed to be raw to really highlight our theme which was RED. Using sticky notes we came up with different videos that we could all make. Having all our notes and images played out like this almost created a storyboard that we could work off of. Instead of just writing the idea down, being able to visually see what will be produced made it easier when filming the video. Once we had a number of different videos we could make we then each selected a few that we could record. Having this discussion as a group helped us really understand how we would make the video and also the different types of angles and effects we could make.
