Research and setting up

The next two days was the time we needed to set up for our final presentation on Thursday. Within this time we got our materials together and focused on finishing anything that was left.

We discussed making leaflets for people when they enter our Bauhaus party and created small and simple ones using photoshop. However I wanted to use the skills I picked up on from making a one cut book. I thought this would be a good way to challenge myself and use the new skills I gained. Using Illustrator I created a template and began to test different layouts and themes I could use to create the one cut book. I wanted it to be busy, packed with information and easily understandable. I also wanted it to flow. I decided to make the main colour theme red because of our initial theme and included much of our process along the way. When making this I struggled with turning the text and images the other way and also ensuring that the images weren’t pixilated. I also didn’t want the writing to get lost in the design and overall just wanted to represent what our Bauhaus party would be like. I would like to improve some of the writing and make it more bold as I feel like the pictures that are inserted are very overwhelming to look at. At first I was going to change this but then I though it would fit in well with the exciting and chaotic theme. In a way we wanted it to overwhelm people. I think creating this was useful to the Bauhaus party because if anyone was confused about what was going on within our party, they could look at the one cut book and also have the chance to see all our ideas and process of how we got to our final party. I also think it was useful for me as I wasn’t very confident at first when creating a one cut book, but once I started I felt more comfortable and was able to experiment with different shapes, fonts and images. Now I can confidently create another one cut book for any future projects if necessary.Screen Shot 2018-11-21 at 02.03.54.png
