When creating my final piece, I found that my research was not strong enough! I wasn’t confident enough to continue with my initial idea for my final piece so instead I altered my initial idea. I went around the room asking people what came to mind when they thought of the word ‘depression’. Many people came up with words such as ‘lonely’, ‘darkened’ and ‘hunched’. Using a couple of magazines that I brought in I decided to create a magazine cover with different celebrities that were women to portray that although they were made to come across as these glamorous women that have it all, they are in fact in reality quite lonely and aren’t as happy as they are perceived to be. From this mistake of not researching enough I was able to learn about the importance of my research and the vital role that it plays in a project.
