As a group we looked at different steps for critiquing a piece of work. This helped me establish the difference between how I used to critique work for A levels to how I should critique work today. We went over the 4 different elements of critiquing work which are, Describing, analysing, interpreting and evaluating.
With these steps, I learnt how to critique in more depth. Once we knew how to critique a piece of work correctly we then took a look at our partners photography of subjects that reminded them of he word ‘descent’. The critique was useful as it showed that I was on the right track in terms of making the relation to my theme clear. Also it helped to show me how I could improve my work. E.g – ‘Take 3 photos of different styles of graffiti’.
