continuous line drawing was an interesting experiment. Using the materials that I brought in that represented my theme, I placed them onto my model and was given the task to draw what I saw (using 1 of my 5 mark making materials) without looking down at the paper. At first I didn’t really concentrate and the drawings just looked like scribbles and didn’t really resemble human features but for my second drawing, I focused more and tried to get a number of different facial features in.
This helped me learn about the importance of concentrating as at first I wasn’t able to get any of the important facial features such as the eyes, nose or mouth but after some concentration I was. I enjoyed this because I was able to be expressive with my mark making and also experiment with different materials.
These drawings would later contribute to my final piece, giving me the confidence to experiment with different materials and also be bold with my mark making.
