In this first studio session, within our small groups we were given the task to expand on the word ‘decent’, contributing to this I was able to understand and take on other peoples interpretations of the word ‘decent’. This helped to expand my creativity and ideas of where this project could be taken. I was able to learn the value of the ideas of others and also how important teamwork is. Talking amongst the team helped me to open up to new ideas and understand the freeness of art, how words and art pieces can mean different things to many different people. Creating this mind map was useful as it taught me a new way to brainstorm my ideas not only with other people but also independently. The mind map was not restricted to one thing but instead was full of a variety of colour and ideas stemming from others, which isn’t usually how I would plan out my work. Overall this method of planning was very helpful and I will take it on with any future planning for projects!
